Despers USA Steelpan Workshop January 2025

 On January 14, 2025, Despers USA hosted an exciting Steelpan Workshop for kids, offering a fun and engaging introduction to the rhythms and melodies of the steelpan. Young participants had the opportunity to explore this unique instrument, learn basic techniques, and experience the joy of playing music in a supportive, hands-on environment. Led by passionate instructors, the workshop fostered creativity, teamwork, and musical growth, giving kids a memorable experience as they connected with the vibrant sounds of the steelpan. 

Caribbean Heritage Month 2024, hosted by DC37, was a vibrant celebration of the cultural richness and contributions of the Caribbean American community. As part of the festivities, Despers USA Steelpan Orchestra delivered an unforgettable performance, showcasing the soul-stirring sounds of the steelpan, a symbol of Caribbean heritage. Caribbean American Heritage Month, celebrated each June, honors the history, achievements, and diverse cultures of Caribbean Americans, highlighting their significant impact on American society. This year’s event brought together music, dance, food, and community spirit to celebrate the enduring legacy and contributions of the Caribbean diaspora.
